AnaBios bolsters cell portfolio with Cell Systems buy

The acquisition of Cell Systems will advance AnaBios’ human tissue and cells portfolio and provide access to a range of tools, says firm. Analysts downgrade Catalent on back of ‘productivity issues’ and CFO change

Catalent’s stock price dropped 26% as capacity ramp-up delays at a gene therapy plant in Maryland add to ongoing operational issues at sites in Indiana and Belgium. In a business update, contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Catalent said “productivity issues and higher-than-expected costs experienced at three of its facilities” will affect its upcoming third quarter FY2023 and full-year results. Biogen licenses Denali’s ATV platform for Alzheimer’s candidate

Biogen will develop and commercialise an Alzheimer’s candidate using Denali’s Antibody Transport Vehicle (ATV). Following the original $1 billion deal forged in 2020, Biogen has licensed Denali’s Antibody Transport Vehicle (ATV) Amyloid beta (ATV:Aβ) program through an additional upfront exercise payment, granting Biogen access to Denali’s technology to treat Alzheimer’s disease. UNDBIO forks out $100M to build insulin plant in West Virginia

South Korean firm UNDBIO has signed a lease with West Virginia University to construct an insulin production facility in Morgantown. In a statement released by Governor Jim Justice’s office, the $100 million investment in the first phase of the project from UNDBIO, a firm focused on providing diabetic care solutions, will create 200 jobs within three years.
