SARS-CoV-2 Variants: A Case for Expanding mRNA Vaccine Production Globally

Vaccines based on messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) created headlines in December 2020 for being the first highly efficacious SARS-CoV-2 prophylactics to receive emergency use authorization (EUA) from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
