Silicone Suction Hose from AdvantaPure is Now NSF Listed

AdvantaPure now offers its high purity silicone suction hose with a National Sanitation Foundation listing (NSF-51). Applications for the hose include ultrapure water transfer, food processing, beverage conveyance, washdown stations, skid systems, and other suction and discharge uses in the food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetics industries.

Called APSW, the hose begins with a liner of low volatile grade, platinum-cured silicone. The liner is slipped onto a mandrel and wrapped with four plies of polyester mesh fabric, 316 stainless steel reinforcing wire, and additional silicone. It is then cured into a smooth and uniform hose. This construction gives APSW the strength, flexibility and durability to perform well in demanding applications and harsh environments.

APSW’s new NSF listing gives users the assurance of a high quality product that’s made to carry a variety of food and beverage ingredients. The hose imparts no taste or odor to fluids flowing within it and is crush and kink resistant. Two styles are offered: smooth O.D. or, for an improved range of flexibility, convoluted. Both handle pressure and vacuum usage.

In addition to its listing by NSF, APSW has undergone extensive physical, chemical, and biological testing and meets USP Class VI, FDA CFR 177.2600, ISO 1099 and European Pharmacopoeia 3.1.9 standards. APSW handles temperatures from -100°F to 350° F (-73.3°C to 176.6°C) and is certified free of animal-derived ingredients.

APSW silicone suction hose is sterilizable by autoclave, CIP, SIP and gamma irradiation processes. AdvantaPure stocks the hose in sizes ranging from 1/2″ through 2” I.D., and larger sizes are in development. Documented quality control and lot traceability are provided.
